Our synagogue was organized provide a Reform Jewish community for North Fork residents and visitors; to promote the enduring and fundamental principles of Reform Judaism and to ensure the continuity of the Jewish people; to enable members to develop a relationship to God through communal worship, study and assembly. We strive to foster harmony, understanding, justice and cultural growth within the community at large, and to apply the principles of Reform Judaism to our values and conduct as individuals, family members and citizens of the society in which we live.

Our rabbis are students in the Rabbinical Program of the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion. Each student is required to fulfill two years of professional experience prior to ordination. We are privileged to participate in this program. Each new student rabbi brings us a fresh point of view that enriches our experience as we pray, celebrate and study together.

In our Second Decade, we continue to achieve our goals, developing quality religious, educational and cultural programs to enhance the lives of members and the community. Our activities include:

• Shabbat Services every first and third Friday of the month at 8 pm.

• A religious education program for our children leading to Bar and Bat Mitzvah.

• A program of social and cultural programs to which we invite the public.

• Regular adult education, Torah study and discussion group.

Shalom Teens: a program of activities at which the teenagers whose families are members of any North Fork congregation, or unaffiliated, can meet, socialize and learn.

• Open Doors/Open Minds: a continuing discussion with members of other faiths to increase our understanding of each other.

Mad Hatters: Our members knit meet every other Monday to knit and crochet most beautiful, colorful and wonderful hats for chemotherapy patients.
